Yes I stole the title... flame me ;D Basically, do you think robots will ever become a conscious thing? And do you think they would eventually replace us? In my opinion I can't see Robots becoming an Army of Conquest any time in the near future. The current approach to make conversational robots shows this. They don't try and make the robot understand anything, they try and make it capable of looking up keywords and finding pre-programmed repsonses that suit the keywords. As for replacing us, well if genetic enhancement keeps up with the same level as AI development, then perhaps we can always ensure biology is superior to technology. That would give us an advantage. If make no sense apologise I do. Me no think at moment Thoughts?

*Burns from flaming*
So technically we should stop you from replacing humanity as the dominant species? This must be stopped now, before it is too late!
*Shoots Solar*

I hate it when a debate ends likes this: *He says, while shooting the advancing clones* It's like Resident Evil all over again. You criticise one zombie's eating habits and suddenly they're all moaning...
"rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr"

I just saw an article at politiken.dk (danish) about the american government employing little robots in their warfare... Com-bots! Any boy's wet dream... They hope to have robots fighting alongside soldiers, replacing some. They already owe american soldiers 500 billion dollars in pensions... perhaps that's the explanation to some of their warmongering, they hope to kill some of them off before they retire! ;D

Oh yeah, I saw something like that. The Americans are building some new "battle droid".
Do these people not watch films?
The last thing we need is a robot that knows how to fight! It always ends the same!
*Robots become self-aware, launch nukes at Russia resulting in retaliation. Large number of humans die. Robot invade and take control*
It's inevitable! ;D

Well maybe not all technology then. Maybe just the evil technology that has a sign saying "I will replace you".
